Can you believe that? A person, just like you and me, would get a citation if we were to give a homeless child food. They passed laws that keep kids deeper and deeper into the streets, by kicking them out of the safer neighborhoods, where maybe they can find a half-eaten sandwich, or warmth in a building doorway. Yet, when these kids were in the 'system', they were being starved, raped, beaten, and more. What are they supposed to do? What CAN they do? They are children. They are too young to work, they are too young to rent an apartment. They have to fight to survive. Homeless children are just waiting to die, to go to a better place. They don't realize that there is help for them. All of their energy is being spent of finding food and shelter. A lot of the homeless kids are with a family, pushed out into the streets because one parent has died, and the other simply couldn't afford to pay the bills.
