True Authenticity means a person has become more what they were meant to become. In living authentically we aspire to be complete. That means totally content, comfortable with who we are, inspired by a purpose larger than ourselves and connected to the source of vitality of life. At this point we can totally surrender and become what is called our true potential.

Whatever this means, the ultimate experience is to be in total contentment within. Internally, to desire nothing, to want absolutely nothing, we are happy as we are, where we are. To desire nothing from the inside out, means to be totally content with yourself. When everybody else is running around stressing about life, you might be able to see, that there is nothing to change, the only thing that is challenged is the way you see the world. Behind the world of materiality, success, ambition, goal setting, desire and self improvement sits another world.

Behind the curtain sits another world, where everything is perfect, where the laws of nature are perfectly functioning. Whether it be a world trade centre, a Tsunami, a bomb on a bus or HIV in our lives, we see an order, a perfect order, and from that we know, that everything is working to a perfect pattern, the universal laws of nature.

This is real wisdom. It is not religion that tells us how to live with each other, it is a silent awareness that love, consciousness and a certain spirituality sits behind everything. We can see it, and therefore, from behind the curtain, separate for this short moment from materiality and our ego, we see the order in the chaos, the mind of creation, the laws before the laws, love.

With this perspective there is nothing lacking; there is no desire, no movement. And then from this place we can step back out from behind the curtain and live and act with authenticity, all actions are taken with purity. Then whatever you touch, whatever you are doing or not doing -- even just existing -- is a peak experience. You are alive and that is enough. Then growth can occur in harmony with nature.

Often we become trapped in the transient consciousness of the material realm, hoping that the formality and structure of such a realm can appease the fears and questions we all carry within. Security cannot be found like this. The material realm is the smallest drop in the great ocean of life. Absolutely nothing can keep an individual from exploring and discovering that great ocean?

There are human laws, morals, ethics, ideals, ideologies, religions, beliefs, cultures and codes of rights and wrongs. These hold the fabric of our societies together and help us manage our relationships with the world, the material world outside of us. But those laws are not the truth. Those are human laws. Created by people, each one claiming they got it from “above” and for all we know, maybe that is true. But until those laws are universal, how can they come from “the one” above? They are holding fragments of the story, but their cultures and fears have made what they hold, true to the material realms they live in, but false to their origins.

Nature is a good mirror to use. She doesn’t hold a fragment, and doesn’t care for your ideologies. Neither does she care whether there are morals and ethics to protect you from your fears. Nature wants to do as nature was designed. When anything contradicts the laws of nature, it dies. Sickness, disaster and loss come from a breakdown between the individual perception of “the best way to do something” and the universal laws of nature’s advice.

You can argue with nature, but you can’t win. Your authenticity is transparent. You may say “I am a yoga teacher” but people see through you. You may say you are happy, but your disease reveals you. They say in some teachings that if you become desireless, you'll know yourself. But the contrary is true; if you know yourself, you will become desireless. It is only the lack of self love that makes us want to change anything at all. When we feel incomplete, we think we don’t have enough, and this drives us to go about proving ourselves worthy. This is a result orientated life, we need to overcome this and begin to focus on the joy of the process, and allow the results to care for themselves. True authenticity can then become the path to true contentment.

Finding true Authenticity does not necessarily mean that you are satisfied on the outside. It simply means that you are satisfied on the inside. True authenticity means that you, the inner you have extinguished all inner turmoil. But this does not mean that your external world is unproductive. No, it means that you are coming from a healthy productive mindset. You are not reacting, causing problems, stressing people, lying to yourself. Authenticity means that you are living with integrity, and aspiring to all the great material joys life has to offer.
