    Preparing Your Business For January
Why Worry About January During the Holiday Season?Over the first couple of weeks of December, I have been in meetings and had telephone discussions with clients who have no interest in targeting their promotional efforts for the holiday season. They have, instead, chosen to focus their efforts on promoting websites during the month of January. At first, I found the logic very confusing based on a common misconception. Why market during the month of January? Most people tend to have a "post-holiday hangover". They've spent hundreds, and in many cases thousands, of dollars on presents. Th

Obviously, it is not just by doing more ritual. Performing ritual doesn’t seem to give us deep joy in our hearts, and a sense of meaning and purpose in our lives. We need to find a spiritual path that will take us through all the steps and when we complete this journey, we will have found f

Some of us feel like we are missing something in our lives and often we can’t even identify what it is that is missing. We seek for meaning or purpose in our lives; maybe faith or something spiritual, but we don’t know how to find it.

A friend of mine that has great unfaltering faith was asked by a church-going Christian, “How can I get what you have?” She knew she did not have faith in the Great Mystery, in Creator, and she didn’t know how to get it. She knew that even though she had said the words that she accepted Jesus into her heart, she still did not have undoubting faith. She was missing the feeling that her life had purpose and meaning; a feeling that gave her complete joy and satisfaction with her life.

There are many paths that we can follow that will lead us to this place of fulfillment where we do not feel like we are missing something. When we find this place, we will never feel alone. We will feel love and joy within and a wonderful satisfying feeling of completeness.

The first thing to do is a complete spiritual self-examination asking ourselves questions like, “Am I satisfied with my life? Do I feel complete? Do I feel deep joy in my heart? Am I happy? Do I love other people unconditionally? Do I love myself? Do I feel like my life has meaning and purpose?”

If the answers to these questions are not a resounding “Yes!” then the next thing we need to examine is the spiritual path or religion that we have chosen to follow. Why is this religious path not giving me these things? What is missing in the teaching of my religion? Where is the religion leading me if not into a satisfying relationship with Creator and all of Creation? Why is this religion not giving me a feeling of joy within? Why do I feel like I am missing something?

The religion itself may not be the reason we are feeling like we are missing something. Take Judaism for instance. A person can follow Judaism and within it feel total contentment and fulfillment as the ancients did, but it appears many feel like they are missing something. But how can they find this fulfillment?

Adult education and re-training is a big trend! Some of the pressure to get more education is coming from a job market that demands up-to-date skills, especially in technology. Getting The Most Out Of Your Voice
No matter who you are or what you do, chances are you need to use your voice most of the day. Everyone knows the importance of exercising the body but few people realize the voice needs exercise too. Doing a few minutes of simple vocal warm up exercises can increase your vocal power, variety, range, stamina, and fitness and dramatically improve the overall quality of your communication. To release excess physical tension it is best to open up the body before opening up the voice. Most people experience tension specifically in the tongue, jaw, face, neck, or shoulders and are normally unaware of how muc

Obviously, it is not just by doing more ritual. Performing ritual doesn’t seem to give us deep joy in our hearts, and a sense of meaning and purpose in our lives. We need to find a spiritual path that will take us through all the steps and when we complete this journey, we will have found fulfillment in our lives; a deep feeling of satisfaction and completeness. We will know we have found our purpose for being alive. We will not feel like we are missing something. We will be happy. Creator’s love will flow through us and we will become a harmonious part of the circle of life; part of the creation process. We will know we have found the secret of life! We will know nothing is missing! We can have complete faith. We can prove God!

One spiritual path that will lead us step by step into this wonderful place of contentment, fulfillment, peace and harmony is the Native American spiritual path as taught by Cherokee elder and wisdom keeper, John Red Hat Duke. This path is the Red Road as shared in the book Red Hat Speaks, by Dorothy K. Daigle. By walking the seven steps of the Red Road, spending sufficient time mastering each step, we can find our way to a place where we will no longer feel like we are missing something. We can have a wonderful feeling of fulfillment and a deeply satisfying sense of peace.

Following are the seven steps of walking the Red Road as taught by Elder Red Hat and authored by Dorothy K. Daigle:

Step 1: Observe nature with awe and gratitude. A sense of love and respect for all creation will begin to grow within me.

Step 2: Learn to trust Creator, and accept my circumstances. Overcoming adversity will produce spiritual growth within me as I walk the Red Road.

Step 3: Seek for truth within myself that I may remove hypocrisy and evil intent from within my heart.

Step 4: Repent and humbly surrender my will to Creator (to unconditional love) so that I may become one with Great Spirit.

Step 5: Communicate with Great Spirit from my heart; listen, and live the insight I receive.

Step 6: Learn true abstinence--it is in serving others with an attitude of loving-kindness that I create a flow of Living Waters that will purify my
