    My favorite free with purchase is the gift certificate. One, it is given for a future visit to your store. If the customer never comes back, it never cost you. If the customer returns, most likely, they will spend more than the gift certificate amount. Another plus is that you get the cash up-front, compared with reducing an item the same price.
